Augustin-Gabriel’s dissertation considers intelligible matter according to Aristotle’s doctrine, in its first part, and, in its second part, compares the ancient and modern conception of mathematics.

Br. Augustin-Gabriel was a Montfort Brother of St. Gabriel, and extracts of his lengthy dissertation (the first seven chapters out of seventeen) were published in the Laval journal.
